All-American Dogs Meet and Greet

Lab with American flag
Saturday, June 14

10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The Burgwin-Wright House and Gardens is opening its heart and gardens to a group of four-footed friends from Monty's Home. This first-time-ever event, coinciding with Flag Day, will give visitors the opportunity to meet some All-American dogs available for adoption. It will be a red, white and blue extravaganza as the patriotic dogs strut their stars and stripes to impress visitors
and find loving homes.

Monty’s Home, a dog with flag and sunglasses501(c)(3) non-profit organization serving Southeastern North Carolina, sponsors a "Pawsitive Partners Prison Program," where inmates of correctional institutions train dogs for eight weeks to ready them for loving homes.

Barbara Raab established Monty’s Home in memory of her therapy dog, Monty. Raab, a retired ultrasound technician and now a certified professional dog trainer, received the Volunteer of the Year award given by the North Carolina Department of Corrections in Pender
County for her dedication to the
Pawsitive Partners Prison Program.
