Camellias of Wilmington talk and workshop

Wednesday, October 28 at 10a.m.

In celebration of the 1st anniversary of Mayor Bill Saffo’s proclaiming Wilmington as an official Camellia City,Burgwin-Wright House will host a talk and workshop by historic Tidewater Camellia Club


Program Schedule

10:00 A. M.  Guest are welcome to tour of the beautiful Burgwin-Wright gardens or listen about the connection between tea and camellias from a club member as they enjoy a cup and sweet baked treat. Educational area garden information will be provided for review.

11:00 A. M.  Diane Clark, a past club president, will present a brief slide presentation of the club’s history

11:20 A. M.  Matt Hunter, past American Camellia Society President, will present a short lecture entitled the “Ladies of Wilmington” – camellias named for local women

11:40 A. M.   Marty Clark, current club president, and Richard Buggeln, club webmaster, will present a brief overview of the care of camellias when grown in Wilmington

Reservations are required; number will be limited to 32 guests.  Simply call the Burgwin-Wright House at 910-762-0570  to reserve your space for the requested donation of $10.00 – all proceeds benefit the Burgwin-Wright House and Gardens.
