Guided tours of the Burgwin-Wright House

Open Tuesday through Saturday

10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Guided tours are given on the hour. The last tour of the day is at 3:00 p.m.

To purchase admission for guided tours, please enter the gift shop, located on the ground level of the museum house.

We accept debit and credit cards.

Free admission to the nation’s service members, including National Guard and Reserve, and their families from Memorial Day, May 26, 2014 through Labor Day, September 1, 2014.


Self-Guided Tours of the Gardens

Visitors are encouraged to take a self-guided tour of the gardens before or after they tour of the house. Brochures are available in the gift shop.

The gardens are open to the public year-round and free of charge.

Group tours

The Burgwin-Wright House and Gardens welcome private group tours for parties of ten or more with a maximum of 40.  For discounted group rates and/or to book a group tour, please call 910-762-0570 or email:

Gift Shop

The gift shop is open during museum hours from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

Out-of-town guests will find a wealth of merchandise that is unique to the museum and/or Wilmington - perfect mementos of your visit.

Gift shop offerings are constantly changing, but some examples of featured items are books on Colonial and local history, folk toys, locally made specialty food items, local art and crafts, note cards, post cards and patriotic novelties.


There is ample on-street, metered parking in the 200 block of Market Street. The cost is $1.00/hour.  The parking meters accept quarters, dimes and nickels. Staff is happy to make change if needed. 

Located just one block from the museum at 115 Market Street is a city parking deck where the first hour is free of charge. After the first hour, parking is $1.00/hour.
